Southern Europe is a part of Europe, located on its south, on the Mediterranean coast. Southern Europe includes the countries of Pyrenean Peninsula (Portugal, Spain, Andorra), Monaco, countries, located in the Apennines (Italy, Vatican, San Marino), Greece, as well as the island of Malta and Cyprus. Sometimes, in the South of Europe also includes Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Macedonia and the European part of Turkey.
Southern Europe is known for its mild climate, rich history and warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea. All this makes this region a popular destination of beach, sightseeing and therapeutic recreation. Tourists can enjoy the gentle sea, stunning landscapes, an abundance of fruit, wine and olive oil, historical monuments of world significance, thousands of different mineral, thermal and mud springs.
